Simplicity, in harmony with the beauty of Mother Nature

Guided by a deep respect for the natural world, we build beautiful, interactive landscapes and gardens to complement your unique living environment.

We value long-lasting, quality landscape construction, and as long-time residents of the Byron Region, we are familiar with the cultural and environmental influences that affect our local lifestyle. As landscapers, we pay careful attention to individual site conditions, personal lifestyle choices and our ecological footprint.

We invite you to:

  • Choose your style

Take your time to walk around your neighbourhood, look through your favourite landscape books and the internet and start collecting images and ideas that feel right for you and your living environment.

  • Choose your elements

Get to know your local environment. Spend some time in nearby nature and become familiar with the land you’re fortunate enough to be living on. Take inspiration from here.

  • Choose your purpose

What do you want to do? What does this space mean to you? How will you use it? What will cultivate a connection with your inside living space? How will you engage with this space?

We strive to:

Create ecologically relevant, enduring and positive landscapes

Prioritise environmentally sound and efficient processes

Respect connection to local land and the natural environment

Meet Dan – the man behind Elemental Gardens

  • The backstory

Dan arrived in the Byron Region in 1978, bundled in the back of a kombi, when his parents packed up their lives to start fresh in the hills of Coorabell. Soon afterwards he was camping alongside them at the landmark environmental protest at Terania Creek, and he has been influenced and inspired by their passion for sustaining the natural world ever since.

  • An impulse for nature

With an impulse to work closer to nature, Dan left the hospitality industry in 2006 and began property maintenance on an eco-resort in the mountains of SE Queensland. Soon his creative energy was fuelled by all he was learning, and he began improving and beautifying his clients’ properties.

  • Called by the ocean

Business grew and so did the family, and although life in the mountains was refreshing and joyful, the ocean was calling him home. In 2013 Dan returned to the Northern Rivers with his family of five to start business anew, playing once again in the rich soils of his childhood home on Bundjalung Country, in the Byron hills.
